The 2015 Rules originally omitted a clause dealing with Replacement drivers that had been in the previous year's rules.  With several drafted drivers missing from the first two races, it was apparent that for the competition to be conducted as fairly and completely as intended, the replacement policy needed to be addressed.  the Judge deliberated and ruled as follows:

I have listened to all of the input, some many times.  As Fr. Ted would have done, the Judge is seeking the fair and just course of action, as follows.

Replacements-  If a team's driver is unavailable for a race, his/her replacement for the same car will automatically substitute for the original driver until the original driver returns to racing.  The replacement driver will score points as if the car were driven by the original driver.  There will be no charge for the replacement driver unless the original driver misses more than half the season (14 races), in which case the owner will be charged $8.

A single $8 replacement is allowed for a permanent replacement of one of your drafted drivers.


 The above amended rule for replacements is in effect for this season, and will be retroactive to the two completed races (Daytona and Atlanta).  This means that points earned by the replacement drivers for Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, and Brian Vickers will be awarded to their owners.  The recalculated results are below.  The standings shifted slightly, but the Big 3 results did not change.  One more note-  If an original driver switches cars for any race, we will track the driver, not the original car he/she drove.  So we are tracking drivers first, but original car if the driver does not race.

We will see how this works for this year and refine if appropriate next year.
