2015 RotoNASCAR Results - Week 1, The Great American Race (Daytona 500) The spectators and teams were jacked up for the start of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup and Daytona 500. Judge Jag was in his own little great American race on the I-95 track between Rhode Island and Maine, so he did not witness the first 150 laps or so. Tuning in around lap 40something, the usual suspects were up front jockeying for the top 6 or so positions, and it looked like Jeff Gordon or Jimmie Johnson were destined to win. But driving 3-wide and 10-deep on the track at 195 mph with only 1 second separating the first row from the tenth, well, alls it takes is a butterfly in the grill to disrupt the turbulence pattern and send the ordered array into smoky chaos. Poor Punk’s #2 engine burned out and he took his last trip into Pit Row, curiously not blaming anyone (except his mechanics) for his demise. The last 30 laps were quite exciting, with Jimmie J, Gordon, Logano, Dale Jr, Denny Hamlin (with Danica cursing him all the time) up in the top spots. With nine laps to go, Logano took the lead with a little nudge from Bowyer behind him and Hamlin, Bowyer, Harvick, and Dale Jr in close pursuit. Logano pulled out ahead on the last restart with two laps to go and a yellow caution on the last lap sealed the win for the Guzzlers’ Connecticut Yankee Logano, who was quite relieved to bring home the win after losing his wedding ban on his honeymoon. My Guzzler’s were the big weekly winners, picking up 116 points along with the weekly Drag win. Strong finishes by Harvick and Bowyer gave the Caliper Kids a strong second place total. The Radiators were out looking for Brian Vickers and the Busch Brothers’ troubles kept the Spoilers and Pit Bullies in check.
