Day 2:
Nice thing about being on the West Coast while my team sucks moose at the BO…. It’s over early. All rounds done by noon, so here is where we are. Willo’s Doofus Dufner was the last to finish along w/ Gabes’ Laird. Doofus shot 66 to Laird’s 69, and that gives Willo second place honors on Day 2 w/ Ikey one further back. But no one was close to Jack who lapped the field by 5 strokes and takes a 7 stroke lead in first place. Hans held a 5 stroke lead after day 1 but he fell off that perch w/ an unseemly 289, losing 19 strokes to Jack in the process.

Day 3:
Very interesting as Jack’s 3 man team tries to fight off the surge by the 5 man teams of Ikey and Willo, and the 4 man teams of Gabes and Andy. Willo takes day 2 honors, followed by Ikey. It was Gabes man, Laird, who posted the 82 that all cut golfers earned.

Day 4:
Wow. What a collapse by Adam Scott. Throw in some lousy performances by all the other golfers in the final pairings, McDowell, Woods and Snedeker and Ernie Els is your winner. Great to see Ernie win again, any tournament, let a lone another Major. But I would have preferred to see him make a few more of those makeable putts coming down the stretch to really earn it with a charge (especially 16!)…. As opposed to Adam Scott bogeying the last 4 holes to lose it. But give Ernie credit, he poured in the birdie on 18, and Scott did not make the makeable par to send it into overtime.

Congrats to Willo, for both Els winning the event and Willo taking overall top honors. Willo and Ikey tied for low score on Day 4, and both either passed or tied Jack whose bellweathers….Snedeker and McDowell… struggled all day. Even with Woods not finishing in Gabes’ Top 3, his team was one stroke off the day’s best, and he passes Jack and holds off Ikey by one. Jack and Ikey tie for 3rd.
