Here's some of the interesting email sent during the draft: *************************** Hi everybody, 1 am this morning, baby boy, 7 lb 12 oz, mother and baby doing great, and they are going to call him LeBron! Just talked with Anthony. He sends his regards from the hospital. He wanted to take Abdur-Rahim, so I snaked him again! His pick is Damon Stoudamire, Guard. Let's move a little faster today gentlemen! Send someone some provisionals if you are going out! Fox PS The little guys real name is Brandon. ************************************************* I really wanted to play RotoHoops this year. I just watched David Stern's news conference. To suspend Artest for the entire season is wrong. And I do not agree with the other suspensions as well as the one to Reggie Miller. I am out of RotoHoops, period. I do not care what you do with my draft choices. David Stern is a *********. I am out. Jack ************************************************** Jack, Sorry about the Artest thing. Mags suggests some sort of "deal' made for those with suspended players. I'm deciding against that. I do think we did it one time in roto baseball .. didn't Hans have a player injured during the draft or something? But even though there is precedent I don't think it is a good idea. Its just too much of a mess. Its the breaks. We shouldn't have done it then. And Jack .. you can't drop out now. Consider: One: This has been a great draft. Colossal! Monumental!! Anthony's first born arrived this morning. Immediately he lets his kid distract him and makes that terrible Stoudamire pick. That's priceless. And many of us were watching live that train rumbling out of control in Detroit the other night. We can talk about this for years .. remember the draft when half of the Pacers were suspended for half the year? And Jack lost Artest? Maybe we can add "but Jack still managed to finish ahead of Willo". Two: The season is far from over. Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! Three: Artest was a powder keg. A great player. But a nut case. A cheap shot "artest". Five suspensions last year. Its just a shame he had to drag down the saintly Ben Wallace (Foxes) with him. I think Indiana is better off without him. And now Indiana will have a rested O'Neal and Jackson for the playoffs. They probably bribed Stern to affect his decision. Four: I don't think you are worried about how you'll do in the league, but if you are, know that many more players will be lost this year to injuries or whatever. That's why we have moves. The sooner we get the draft over, the sooner you can say that Artest is in your starting lineup, get credit for his early games, and then replace him. The breaks could even out. Or not. And like Gabes, I don't blame you if you don't make many side bets. Five: Gabes is an idiot. All that ranting about starting a draft after the season starts. Hogwash. That has nothing to do with anything. Players can get hurt/suspended during the preseason too. And many drafts take place after seasons start. Please just ignore Gabes. So, what'll it be for our side bet this year? I was thinking $40 overall and $20 a category? Or more, if you like. Its up to you. I understand that real estate is doing well this year. You're still in, right? Your not gonna make me drive out there or anything, right? Fox ************************************************** Fox, I agree with Jack. I quit. Roto Hoops blows, and so does Vince Carter. Roto Golf is king. Only 35 days until the real draft begins. A Retired Dunkbag *************************************************** what did Anne Marie serve you for dinner? or are you on some of that Kenosha moonshine? *************************************************** Hey Fox, I understand you're some sort of math genius, however in my history books it wasn't the Germans who bombed Pearl Harbor. Is that the **** they taught you at ND? Anthony ************************************************** I am going in for a roto-rooter today (colonoscopy) so will be out of pocket until later in the afternoon. Willo ************************************************** First of all, I did not bow out of this thing for a fear of not doing well. I recognize there are many weeks to go and many player combinations left to make. In addition, the teams you all are putting together are pathetic. David Stern is a little king - King David, if you will, and he has this wrong with regard to the length of suspensions. You think J. O'Neal should be suspended for 25 games and lose $4.65 million for punching a fan on the court - remember, he did not go into the stands. Artest is a nut bag, but he was laying on the scorer's table and someone threw a beer on his head. Anthony, if you wouldn't react to that, you are a *****! For him to be out the entire season is wrong. Remember who started it all. He is out for 6 games! That it all happened is a shame but Detroit and the arena mangement deserve some blame. Haven't seen any of that as yet. In the 11th Round, we will take A. Croshere - F - Indiana. He is going to get alot of playing time!!!! Jack **************************************************** > Eichler Thomas wrote: > > Who took Ron Artest in Roto-Hoops? Jermaine O'Neal? Lucky, lucky, > lucky. Just guessing but since he's the consummate homer, I'll bet > that Puss took ol' Ronnie and Jermaine. Artest's actions don't > surprise me; O'Neal's action do. TE O'Neal's action do? Ike, you write like Artest. I took Artest and Anteneey Mancusi took O'Neal. I also just took Austin Crosere since he will now be playing alot. Too bad you stayed out of RotoHoops! Oh, and because you stayed out of RotoHoops, **** off! Having to answer your e-mail is taking valuable preparation time for the draft away from me. Hoosier Daddy and President of the DSSSS fan club ******************************************************* Hey, if you all had bothered to participate in roto hoops you'd be in the midst of an incredible rollar coaster draft. We've had picks made from the delivery room (Anthony) and picks pulled right out of a clean ass (Willo just before his colonoscopy). We've had complaints about fights, suspensions, email addresses, snakes, timing plus name calling, back biting and ball busting. Too bad you're missing all the fun. Nyah nyah. Fox ******************************************************** Just talked to Anthony. He was holding little LeBron in his arms. I got goosebumps. Is this a great draft or what? He takes A Houston, NY, G On to Jack. Fox ******************************** Jack.... When, for the hundredth time, are you going to use the expanded e-mail listing? That should not be a problem for an engineer that is rolling in high priced properties. If you cannot handle it then let your son deal with these technical chores. Understand? If you don't behave, as I have instructed you, I am going to tell Ron Artest to visit with you. Your director.... ******************************** There, are you happy now? Was the colonoscopy a requirement by the feds for you to come clean? Had my last one almost four years ago. The found nothing - no bleep! Jack ******************************** Jack... Your list is still bleeped up. I give up. Your are truly one incompetent computer nerd. As to roto-rooters...I was roto'd upper/lower and somehow escaped the wrath of the scopes. I can now take a deep breath for a few more years. And yes I was totally shitless without the help of the Federal Government. Willo
