The timing of this league couldnt be any better. I need something to help me forget the Irish football problems, Golf ends next week, and baseball is months away. and to think that I thought about skipping this hoops season. (lets see if I am as positive in 6 months....) Here is the way I see the league finishing - top to bottom.... Dippers - my wild card is MJ. Michael Jordan will most likely return to 90% of his greatness this season, and as a 3rd round pick - he will be a steal. Nowitzki as either a Center or Forward gives great flexibility, and Antoine Walker has spend all summer training with MJ so look for him to be a star this season. my boys will probably win the points and average, and finish last in the FG%. I'm also concerned about Assists, but as long as they stay healthy - watch out for the Big Dippers. Red Foxes - the 'ol Professor snagged another quality team. I like the center tandem of Alonzo and Raef. Kobe is a top 5 player in the league, and Grant Hill has had great years - in the past. what about this year? Can he share the ball with Tracy and Darrell? should be interesting. Look for this team to lead in assists with Terry and Nash on the floor. Posse - Jack has assembled some real firepower with Ray Allen leading the way. Finley is a great 4th round pick. Does the Admiral still have it? Watch Eddie Jones and Allan Houston have great years and lets see if Rasheed Wallace self-distructs. Good balance on this team. Bleepheads - Shaq. you almost dont have to say much else. Miller and Brandon will provide the assists and steals. Brand is solid and Mutombo can block with the best of 'em. This team may actually push a couple of the squads ahead of them. Fatsos - In a track meet, these guys would probably win. Francis and Carter are bonafide blue chippers and J. O'Neal is the next great center. too bad he is teamed with an old man center - Hakeem O. The Nets tandem of Martin and Van Horn will disappoint. Watch Dickerson - he'll light it up in Memphis. again, who is Jahidi White? Gliders - sorry Andy. someone has to finish last. just ask Sobo in baseball. already one of your starters, Eddie Robinson, sustains an injury and is out for a few weeks. He joins #1 pick C Webb on the bench (C Webb was great for me last year - when he was healthy). And Camby is also out right now. OK, I'll give you rebounds and blocks with Ratliff and Wallace. the rest of the catagories will suffer. Good luck to everyone as you all fight over 2nd place. Hans (Coach Dipper) --------------------------------------------- Mags' reply: Hans, Sometimes in life you have to stop looking down, lift your head, and see what is above you. In the case of roto-hoops, I will be generous and assume that this is the reason you omitted comment on the Punks. Look above the Dippers and there you will see them. Mags --------------------------------------------- And Hans' reply: Mags - I guess your team does scare me and that is why the Punks were inadvertantly missed. In reviewing your draft, I see a few former Dippers, some good, some not so good. The good ones include Malone and Iverson. Not so good include Divac, Howard and Van Exel. Despite this fact, I see your team in third place. Not sure if it'll be third from the top or third from the bottom, but I'm sticking with third. Hans
