I think we were probably talking about two different guys .. I said he
played the cool rich guy who got all the girls ... and he did:

         Milton Armitage is Dobie's arch nemesis. He is
         handsome and wealthy, and is in competition with
         Dobie for the affections of Thalia Menenger. Milton is
         the kind of guy who everything comes easily to, and is
         a constant thorn in the side of Dobie Gillis.

But you were talking about some goofy rich guy who often acted like a
baby:

         Chatsworth is a spoiled and bratty rich kid who
         provides Dobie with much grief. He's got it all over
         Dobie, flaunting his family status and wealth to attract
         the hearts of Dobie's ever evolving love interests.
         Chatsworth takes great pleasure in being foil to Dobie
         Gillis, possibly because when he goes home he has to
         deal with his overbearing, snobby mother, Clarice
         Osborne.

Warren played the former ... and I'll claim victory for that ...

Whoa, wait a second. As I recall it went something like this:

Fox (trying to remember the name of the actor who played Bugsy Malone):"You
know, it was that guy who played the rich kid on Dobie Gillis, he married
Annette Benning - I like that Annette Benning"

Andy (knowingly): "You mean Warren Beatty? He wasn't on Dobie Gillis."

Fox (patiently): "Yes he was. He played the cool rich guy who got all the
girls."

Andy (importantly):"the rich guy was Chadsbourne Odsworth the third - that
wasn't Beatty - if Beatty was on Dobie Gillis I think we would all remember
it"

Fox (modestly): "I don't remember his name but Beatty played the cool rich
guy - if you say that's Chadsborn OddJob the third OK, fine, but Beatty was a
character on the show"

Andy (getting excited): "No way you fucking idiot. I'll bet you five dollars if
you give me 50 to 1 odds, that's how sure I am that Warren Beatty was never
on Dobie Gillis."

Fox (amiably): "OK, I'll do the bet"

Andy (chortling): "Hey everybody, this idiot thinks Warren Beatty was on Dobie
Gillis. I'm a Dobie Gillis expert. Maynard G. Krebs, herbert T., his wife was
Winnie, remember. No way, no how, was Mr. Warren Beatty ever on that show. If he
was I sure would know about it. Ha Ha Ha Ha, Fox owes me $50."

Fox (wisely): "We'll see."

So quit trying to rewrite history. You know I'm always right, just like the
perfessor on Gilligans Island ... who was it who played him? .. I think it
was that kid from American Graffiti (great flick) who went on to play the star
wars guy.

So consider us even.
