Girls and Boys: Would there be any interest in LDD II, the weekend of October 7-10, (Stanford)? I realize Bill Phillips has invited everyone to Las Vegas and some of the Class of 74 may have just returned to campus for the 30 year reunion. However, if I can make all the pieces fit, and I'm very, very close, we could visit Paw Paw again. There have been some capital improvements since last time, most notably: 1. My sister, Conni, whose cottage we used last time, tells me they've added another bathroom. Therefore, use of outdoor plumbing is optional not required. (Though the outdoors was quite convenient, as I recall.) In a weak moment, Conni has again consented to our use of the cottage. 2. My youngest sister, Pepper, and her husband, have purchased the small cottage right next door to Conni's. She has not yet consented to our use, since (a) I only just emailed her the question a few minutes ago, and (b) she's met some of you. I told her she shouldn't feel compelled to say yes - we can always break in. 3. I'll be checking out the fleet of watercraft this summer. I hope they have the decency to acquire a craft that could hold us all. 4. I would expect the weekend to be very similar to the last one and would be looking for a couple of co-hosts to handle such things as golf, drinks and other items which may come to mind. I'll plan to handle the food, unless someone else feels a strong desire to do that or to assist. 5. Three things that definitely will not change: (a) I'll be quietly slipping off to bed early (b) Andy will be on clean-up duty (c) Sometime during the weekend Willo will be grabbing the HOG. Anyone interested? D.D. *************************** La Dolce Dave, I would love to return for LDD II. There was some talk of a ND-Navy game reunion in the East, but I have a conflict with that. Paw Paw is good good. I'll help with the vino again. One thing, are you going to restock the pond? I think Gabes fished that sucker dry. Mags ************************** Sounds great...but my professional meetings are in Atlanta from October 8-14. I, regretably, cannot attend LDD II. And Reunion was terrific last weekend. I'm sorry more of you were not able to make it back to campus. Great time by all with perfect weather. TE ************************** It has the benefit of an ND game at ND as opposed to the Meadowlands, and saves me the hassle of having to do all the planning for Great Gorge. I am up for either venue, and I will go w/ the flow. Al ************************** David.... I would love to join the fun with one proviso... That qualification is that Andy keeps his mutts out of the liquor cabinet and leave a little bit for us less experienced individuals. ************************* All, Dave will be making me clean up. Willo will be giving me shit about hogging his booze. Prep is going to be driving. Sober. That's scary. Fox will be eating all the fish that Dave cooks. Gabes will be making me get up early to fish. Al will make me play golf. Jack will be bugging me to play rotobasketball. McGee will be fighting with Terry. Sobo will be gloating over his roto baseball wins over me. Curly will be boring me with quail hunting stories. Ikey will make us go to Mass. And Hans will be crying the blues about how much money he's spending on his kids' education. I'll go if John goes. Andy ************************* Sounds good to me ... Only I'm supposed to be in Manitoba on October 7. Gotta give a speech to the Manitobians. I like how that sounds. Manitobians. So maybe I can fly down afterwards, evening of the the 7th .... or the 8th. I just don't want to get stuck with the dishes. That's all. J ************************** Girls, Albert, start lining up the Mundle Bundle's. LDD II is a go. Format will be much the same as last time. Most will arrive on Thursday it sounds like, though a Wednesday arrival would probably work. We'll have more room at the two cottages, but may also have more attendees! So we'll probably still have some folks staying at the Motel. - Thursday evening dinner will probably be at the same pub in Paw Paw. - The CyberZahm Golf Tournament will be on Friday, Oct. 8. Let's plan to have it at the Heritage Course in Paw Paw. As I recall Sobo found it and gave it good marks for quality and cost. I'll be looking for a volunteer to handle the foursomes, tee times, reservations and whatever else the golfers need. - The Friday Evening CyberZahm dinner will be at the cottages. Probably have a similar menu as last time, unless I am otherwise inspired between now and then. Mags, thank you for volunteering to be in charge of the wine for the weekend. I'll be donating a few bottles, but I'll let you handle the rest. Keep track of the costs. I will need a volunteer for beer, liquor and N/A drinks. Any takers? - Start looking for Stanford tickets. I should be able to come up with at least 4. - I'll be planning to fish on Friday and maybe Thursday, too, if time permits. Last time we hired a guide to fish the St. Joe River. Unfortunately the water was low and there wasn't much action. We can wait on this until we get closer to the date and see what the fishing is like. Anyone interested, let me know. - Does anyone want to organize any kind of tail gate for the game? - Post game at the cottages, we'll have something simple, like burgers and brats on the grill. - Last but by no means least, this year's biggest improvement will be our own Chaplain to hear Willo's confession and, time permitting, to have Mass prior to departures on Sunday A.M. So far, I have the following attendees: Willo, Mags, Andy, Prep, Albert, Sobo, Willo's girlfriend (Friday arrival probably) and Fox (academic schedule permitting). As always, suggestions and ideas are welcome. D.D. ************************** David...... If you approve I will handle the post dinner entertainment on whatever night you deem appropriate. I have an idea that will be to the liking of many. Stay tuned!! Willo, You're henceforth and hereafter in charge of the after dinner entertainment on Friday evening! D.D. *************************** Just ran across all the chatter about PPII on cyberzahm. DD, you're going above and beyond the call, and I can't say enough good things about your sister. She's either nuts, or loves you more than any sister should. If I can get out of the office that week after being in Vegas the week previous, I'll be there. I'll help keep Andy under control in the kitchen. As for keeping him out of the booze, it'll take a better man than I am. Golf lessons will be available to all, rates are trebled for the HOGMAN! One question to all you zahmbies from out east--how is it that you get to have the US OPEN about every other year someplace in the state of New Yuk. Bill ****************************
