All, On the spur of the moment, I decided to trek over from my new whereabouts in Albany to join up with the good Dr Ike and the few other brave souls who managed to get to Cooperstown for a brief golf outing. Actually it was just Ike, Fox, me, and Ike's pal from Lyons Hall Jim Hetterman (sp?)( '74). I was glad Fox managed to make the trip all the way up from PA. A tidy little foursome prepared to brave the ominous rain clouds and tee it up at The Leatherstocking Golf Club. I pulled in an hour before tee-time, just enough time to greet the old Timothy Leary of Zahm Hall and his lovely wife Alison and get a quick view of the "Ponderosa". Things were looking up, after I adjusted to the radically changed hair length and distribution of the good Doctor. Got acquainted with Jim H, greeted the Scat-master Fox, and we loaded up the wagon and headed for the links. We were fortunate to get in 18 with barely a drop of rain on a beautiful course. I shot a much better round than anticipated, good enough to keep me interested in playing some more. Fox was markedly better than the last time I saw him play, and Ike was consistent and calm and had his game well under control. We ran into several other Domers on the links, coming out of the gopher holes I think. After golf, headed back to the Ponderosa where one-half of the Bobsy Twins, Pat Dwyer, joined us for chatter and a great dinner prepared by Alison. After that, incense, cigars, and beer on the back deck, and later front porch, and lengthy discussion about rotobaseball, summer reading, and life. Fox brought along his ND scrapbook too and it was quite a trip back going through that. After mass the next morning, breakfast at the Doubleday Cafe- the kind of place you see in the ads for Visa (we don't take American Express..). Looks like a good place to spend some TGIF time. Cooperstown will be a great place for a Fall reunion next year- Ike knows how to put together a good time. Thanks Ike, it was very enjoyable and great seeing you, meeting Alison and Ben, and playing a round with everyone. Mags
