Hans: Many thanks for organizing the outstanding weekend! The fishing, golf courses, casino and Sox game, capped with an ND win made for great fun. I could get used to that kind of schedule. It had to be tons of work to organize, but your efforts are much appreciated. Go Irish. D.D. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hans: I want to add my word of thanks for an outstanding reunion. Your hospitality and organization were impressive, and Pat's contributions added to the fun. I made it back to St. Paul long enough to pick up a different set of irons and drop off the dirty laundry before heading on to Hibbing for the scramble. I thought of the group witnessing the thrilling Irish victory even as I was trying to survive on the golf course with only three hours of sleep. Your effort has reminded me once again of the importance of these rich and diverse annual gatherings. Congratulations on a job very well done! Prep -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No funny stuff here, guys, just a big thank you to all of you for making the last five days some of the best I've had since the Bustoutathon. Can't say enough about how great it was. As usual, my ribs are sore today from laughing my ass off. It just doesn't get any better than laughing with your friends. Hans, you did an outstanding job. Everything was top shelf: drinks at Butler, the dinner at the casino, Edgewood Valley, limos to a Sox game that was watched in a fabulous sky box, the coach to ND followed by a walk off field goal win, the BBQ at your house. Outstanding! Many thanks for the many hours of organization that you put in to make certain that all of us had a memorable time. Mission accomplished! Ikey, Jack and John, I hope after making your first reunion that you can now see how great it is to get together on an annual basis with a group of guys who formed lasting friendships over a quarter century ago. It's truly something special, really special. Mags, Curly, Terry and Reb, you were missed but not forgotten. I know with everyone's schedule that it is hard to get 100% attendance, but it sure would be neat if all 16 of us could get together in Cooperstown next year. Let's try to make it happen. Gabes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After missing the first couple of reunions, I have to agree with Gabes that the camaraderie and sheer enjoyment of being with everyone again is well worth the effort. The same can be said of our Class Reunions at ND. Absolutely worth the effort. Hans has raised the bar mighty high but all will be ready in Cooperstown in 2001! Great to see everyone! Ike -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hans and all, I will echo Gabes' sentiments. Hans, you did an above-the-call-of-duty type job w/ the Dance. The venues were nothing less than top shelf, only equalled by the style in which we traveled to them and the logistical skill you exhibited in pulling it off like clockwork. Pat Kelly was a treasure! Thanks for his e-mail, I will be sure to send personal thanks. See you all in Cooperstown... have we designated a code name for that event yet? "Feel no Shame at the Hall of Fame"? "Dr. Tom's Magical Mystery Tour"? "Ikey:2001... a Spaced Oddity"? I like the last one! John and Dave... you may want to collaborate on the "rustic" venue for 2002. I doubt that the Executive Committee will accept backwoods trips in successive years, so put your heads together for "2002; The 'Reune' at the Commune". Al Danza Director, Channel Alliances -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gabes- Well put. And Hans, VERY well done. It's difficult to think of what you could have done better, except maybe stepping aside so someone else could win the Cyberzahm Golf Tournament. (Note to Jack: should we ban Hans? Probably a better chance of getting this done than getting Eldrick out of Rotogolf.) From the chauffeur service pick up to the drop off at the airport, all the details were covered. To all who Danced, it was great to see you again, even more so because we spent Saturday back at where we all got together. Who knows? Maybe this team can bring back the Magic; I love this team for its heart and hustle. Wouldn't it be something if Gary (in) God(sey we trust) is the real deal. Not to get too far ahead of things, but remember, Kevin McDougal never played before taking the Irish to the brink of a NC in 1993. Don't count on it, but don't bet against it, either. Looking forward to the Spaced Odyssey, the more the merrier. If you've not made a Cyber-reunion, it's hard to describe the camaraderie you'll experience, so I won't even try. Just trust any of us who were at The Dance or previous reunions, they are worth almost anything to be there. Ike, sign me up. Sobo -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hans, Great job. Excellent! From start to finish. OK, enough of the accolades. I want pictures and comments. This reunion deserves to be memorialized. Fox -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yep... what a great great time. Today I had the pleasure of faxing a copy of my ticket stub to a Purdue alum ('73) friend of mine. He used to tape Mike Phipp's ankles before games and spews hate for the Dome. I wish that he woulda been the one to step in that horse shit after the game. J -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hans, Thanks for the planning and implementation of the Dance. As a first time participant, the first impression was wonderful! From start to finish, a great time. Next time, I am there for the whole thing (Ike). Jack PS - Sobo should have caught the ball!
